How much cheaper than the Mercedes dealer?
Typical savings vs main-dealer pricing: 30–60% on key replacement, often more on EIS/ESL repairs (where the dealer typically replaces the whole module rather than repairing it). Exact savings depend on the model and year — we give you the price up front before any work starts.
Do I need the V5 / logbook?
Yes — for any new key being programmed, we need to verify proof of ownership. Bring the V5/logbook plus one form of photo ID (passport or driver's licence). For repairs to existing keys, no paperwork needed.
Are you actually associated with Mercedes-Benz?
No. MercedesKeys.ie is not associated or endorsed in any way by Mercedes-Benz Automobile Manufacturer. We're an independent specialist. Mercedes is a trade mark of Daimler AG; we use the name purely to describe the marque we work on.
What's an EIS / ESL — and how do I know if mine has failed?
The EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) is the module that reads your key and decides whether to start the car. The ESL (Electronic Steering Lock) physically locks the steering column when the car is off. Common failure symptoms: car won't start despite a working battery and a known-good key; key turns but nothing happens; intermittent no-start; "ignition switch fault" or "steering lock" warning. We diagnose the exact failure on site.
Can you come to me?
Yes — most jobs are mobile, completed at your driveway, workplace, or wherever the car is. Some EIS/ESL repairs need a controlled environment and a workshop visit (we'll tell you up front if so).
What areas of Ireland do you cover?
All 26 counties via our sister-company network at Lock Doctor Ireland — 15 base locations covering every county. Local Mercedes-trained team dispatched from the closest base.
How fast can you actually do it?
Most key replacements: cut and programmed in 30–90 minutes on site. EIS/ESL repairs: typically 1–4 hours depending on the failure mode. We'll give you an honest ETA and turnaround when you book — no over-promising.
